Part of being an artist is noticing

subtleties in lighting. The cast

lighting of the yellow zinnia and pear

created the look of a sunny sky

in the city scape on the plate.

The yellow is also cast onto the cloth and the table.

These subtleties give the painting

more excitement and life.

As we enter the Christmas season, let us not forget the true

meaning of Christ's birth!

Those of you who follow my paintings

know of my fondness of sheep.

Also, how I enjoy farm outings

to spend time with them and

painting sheep to share with you.

Pretty pansies seemed

especially fitting as

an adornment for this sheep

because the pansy is known for its

symbolism of Loving Thoughts.

Foggy mornings have been frequent lately.

friendly and curious wooly sheep.

I tried to depict their natural curiosity

while appearing one by one out of the mist.
