Part of being an artist is noticing
subtleties in lighting. The cast
lighting of the yellow zinnia and pear
created the look of a sunny sky
in the city scape on the plate.
The yellow is also cast onto the cloth and the table.
These subtleties give the painting
more excitement and life.
