Farmyard Gossip, Alpacas

Farmyard Gossip, Alpacas
5" x 7" original oil painting
gallery wrapped stretched canvas

Available in my online store

These two alpacas
were standing together
and looking like they were
sharing some juicy gossip.
Of course they were
just chewing their cud.

Those of you that have followed me
and my paintings over the years
know of my fondness
for wooly farmyard animals.
Although I more often paint sheep,
I also enjoy alpaca for their
gentleness, beauty, intelligence,
and individual personalities.

This alpaca is attentively
Looking for My Friends,
keeping an awareness as to the
whereabouts of its family group.

Alpacas enjoy the company of
other alpacas. As herd animals
they develop social relationships
among each other.

At a recent alpaca show,
as individual alpaca were separated from
their family group for judging,
we could see and hear their caring concern
that they express for each other
when one alpaca departs
or returns to the family group.
