Not much to say about this one. Hoping it speaks for itself. Soft low- light and subtle colors give it a moody feeling, but moody in a good way. It's almost monochromatic with only a small window of variance between the gray and the lavender. That's what appeals to me most.
Lemons In Crystal 4"x6" original oil gallery wrap canvas framing optional
Sold
Loads of reflective light from the sunny yellow lemons and the crystal dish. The white cloth doesn't have a chance of escaping the glow.
Most of my paintings are done "alla prima" or all at once. These small ones especially are done at one sitting, glazing and painting wet over wet until I have a feeling of "Ahhhh, I'm finished". Copyright of the artist 2009
Thought I would give this a re-list since I finally put it up for auction. The close ups make it more interesting also. This is such a beautiful bowl that belongs to my mother. The painting has a real feel of pottery. Copyright of the artist 2009
Open Door, Sheep 5"x7" original oil painting, gallery wrap linen
Sold
Thought this was a great looking barn. Maybe it's too elegant for sheep. But perhaps with a double meaning to the open door it makes the idea work. The sheep is in a moment of hesitation as he decides whether to walk through the open door or not. We are like sheep, always having a bit of hesitation before we decide to leap from the known to the unknown.
Spode, Silk & Orchid 4"x6" original oil gallery wrap canvas
Sold
Each object has different textures and surface qualities making for some interesting painting techniques. Not so sure I captured all the surfaces, but I gave it a good try.
Passing By, Sheep 4"x6" original oil gallery wrap canvas
Sold I've always loved animals, but especially sheep. Black faced sheep are my favorite. Maybe it's because we like sheep have gone astray and need a lot of help getting back on the right path. One of my favorite paintings is of Jesus rescuing a sheep from the side of a cliff. Something to think about in our world of ups and downs.
