Commission Painting

Commission Garden Painting
Oil on board, custom frame
approx 22" x 39"

Sold

This is a recent painting done by using elements
from the patrons garden. The vintage statue was
an important element as well as the lily pond.
In reality they are many feet away from each other.
The artist can use these elements and create a
new reality. I guess you can say I was in the
moving business. The lake and most of the trees
are there in reality. It was also a coordinated effort
between what the patron desired and a highly respected
interior designer. The patron picked the subject,
the designer picked the frame, and I painted the painting.
I have been working on this since the beginning of the year.
This painting has a higher degree of finish that most
of the small paintings on the blog.

Commissions are alway welcome!

Lakeside Wicker Garden

Lakeside Wicker Garden
5" x 7" original oil
premium canvas board

SOLD

A good friend of mine invite me to a
summer community near Marblehead Ohio.
Lakeside is right on Lake Erie. Several of our artist
friends were in a plein air paint out that started
early in the am and didn't end until 6pm. They were
painting about 12 hours, with a show and sale to follow.
We walked around and hunted for fellow artists
and also took in an art show in the auditorium.

Lakeside has been around since the early 1920's
and is rich with history, including many Victorian homes,
beautiful verandas and gardens. Needless to say, we had a
wonderful day with perfect weather. I think both of us have
decided to paint in the plein air paint out next year.
For this year, paintings from some of the photos will have to do.

On our walk we came across this old wicker chair 'planted'
in a garden with a few sun rays saying...."paint me"!

Buddies, Sheep

Buddies, Sheep
5" x 7" original oil
premium canvas board

SOLD

Finally got these guys up after major
monitor problems. This is very close
to the actual painting, at least on my
monitor. All the techie problems are
not at all fun. I'd rather be painting!

When I do sheep, I try to capture a
personality. Don't these guys look like
a couple of good buddies?

Lots of brush stokes in this

the lavender to create form.
